Teave LLC (“Teave”, “we”, “us”, “our”) owns and operates Milton Guitar Lessons and is committed to protecting your privacy.

Teave LLC operates out of the United States and Canada and provides services to users worldwide, including in the European Union / EEA, the United Kingdom, and Japan.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our website and services (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Personal information we collect

We collect and process the following categories of personal information.

2.1 Account and contact information

When you create an account or interact with the Services, we may collect:

  • Email address (stored in our database in encrypted form)
  • Password (stored using industry-standard hashing; we never store your plain-text password)

2.2 Subscription and billing information

We use Stripe, Inc. (“Stripe”) to process payments and manage subscriptions. We do not store your name, full credit card number, full payment card details, or complete billing address on our own servers.

Stripe may collect and store:

  • Payment card details
  • Billing address
  • Tax-related information (such as country, postal code, or any VAT/GST ID you provide)

Stripe processes this information in accordance with its own terms and privacy policy. From Stripe, we receive limited billing-related information such as:

  • Stripe customer ID
  • Subscription details (plan, status, start / renewal dates)
  • Last 4 digits of your card and card brand
  • Billing country or other high-level billing data needed for receipts, tax, and records

2.3 Usage and technical data

When you visit our website, we may automatically collect certain information about your device and how you use the Services, including:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system and device information
  • Pages visited and actions taken on the site
  • Referring URL (the page that led you to our site)
  • Dates, times, and duration of visits

This information is collected through:

  • Our own server logs
  • Google Analytics, configured in a minimal, privacy-focused way
  • Google Ads conversion tracking, limited to measuring whether certain ads lead to actions on our site (no remarketing)

  • Records of your unsubscribe / opt-out choices

We do not intentionally collect special categories of personal data (such as health information, religious beliefs, or political opinions).

  • Providing access to lessons, courses, and subscription content
  • Processing payments and managing subscriptions through Stripe

3.2 To improve and secure the Services

  • Monitoring usage to understand how people use the site and to improve content, features, and performance
  • Debugging and troubleshooting technical issues
  • Protecting against fraud, abuse, and security threats
  • Ensuring the stability and security of our infrastructure

3.3 Analytics (minimal Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics in a minimal, privacy-focused configuration to help us understand:

  • Which pages are visited and how often
  • What devices and browsers are used
  • High-level patterns in how the site is used

We do not use Google Analytics for personalized advertising or to create remarketing audiences. See Section 11.2 for details.

3.4 Advertising measurement (Google Ads conversion tracking only)

We may use Google Ads conversion tracking to understand whether our ads lead to actions on our site (for example, signing up or subscribing). This helps us measure the effectiveness of our advertising.

  • We configure Google Ads so that we do not use these tags for remarketing or to track you across other websites.
  • We do not receive information from Google about your browsing behavior on other sites; we receive aggregate and/or limited reports about conversions related to our ads.

  • Sending important information about your account or subscription
  • Informing you of important changes to the Services or this Privacy Policy

3.6 Marketing communications (with consent where required)

With your consent where required by law, we may use your email address to send you:

  • News about new lessons and content
  • Updates about Milton Guitar Lessons
  • Other information about our services

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time (see Section 10).

3.7 Legal and compliance

We may process your information as necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations (for example, tax and accounting rules)
  • Respond to lawful requests and legal processes

  • Contract – when processing is necessary to provide the Services you requested (e.g., account creation, subscription access, payment processing).

5. How we share your personal information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share your information only as described below.

5.1 Payment processor (Stripe)

When you make a purchase or subscribe, your payment information is processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and processes your payment card and billing information as an independent service provider.

  • We do not have access to your full card number or full payment details.
  • We receive limited information from Stripe, such as whether a payment was successful, your Stripe customer ID, and high-level card/billing details to manage your subscription and records.

5.2 Analytics and advertising measurement providers

We use third-party service providers to help us understand how our site is used and how our ads perform, including:

  • Google Analytics (for minimal usage analytics)
  • Google Ads (for conversion tracking only, not remarketing)

These providers may collect or receive limited usage data from your browser (for example, IP address, device and browser information, and pages visited) to provide us with aggregated statistics and conversion reports. We configure these services so that:

  • We do not use them to build remarketing audiences.
  • We do not use them for personalized advertising across other sites.

5.3 Other service providers

We may share personal information with trusted third parties that help us operate the Services, such as:

  • Website hosting and infrastructure providers
  • Email delivery providers (for transactional emails like password resets and receipts)
  • Security and performance monitoring providers

These providers may only use your personal information to perform services for us and are required to protect your information appropriately.

5.4 Legal and safety reasons

We may disclose your personal information if we believe in good faith that it is reasonably necessary to:

We operate from the United States and Canada, and some of our service providers (including Stripe and Google) are located in other countries. As a result, your personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your own country.

  • Using contractual protections such as Standard Contractual Clauses; and/or

  • Emails and communications are retained as long as needed to manage our relationship and maintain records.
  • Logs, analytics, and advertising measurement data are kept for limited periods necessary for security, troubleshooting, and basic analytics/measurement, and may be stored in aggregated or anonymized form.

We may also anonymize information (so that it can no longer be associated with you). We may use anonymized information indefinitely without further notice to you.

8. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to help protect your personal information, including:

  • Encrypting sensitive data such as your email address in our database. Access to decrypted email addresses is restricted to authorized personnel and systems with a legitimate business need (for example, customer support and account administration), and is protected by access controls.
  • Hashing passwords using industry-standard methods
  • Limiting access to personal information to those who have a legitimate business need to know
  • Using reputable third parties like Stripe for secure payment processing
  • Maintaining reasonable security practices in our infrastructure and code

No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:

9.1 Regional notes

  • Canada (PIPEDA): You have the right to access and challenge the accuracy and completeness of your personal information and may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you are not satisfied with our response.
  • EU/EEA and UK (GDPR / UK GDPR): You have the rights listed above, and you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe that our processing of your personal information violates applicable law.
  • Japan (APPI): You may have rights to request disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, or suspension of use of your personal information in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information. We will handle such requests in accordance with applicable law.
  • United States (certain state laws such as California): Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights such as specific access, deletion, or non-discrimination rights. If you are a resident of such a state and wish to exercise your rights, please contact us.

10. Marketing communications

We comply with applicable anti-spam and consent requirements, including Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and, where applicable, GDPR/UK GDPR rules.

We will only send you marketing emails (such as news about new content and lessons) if:

  • We are otherwise permitted to do so under applicable law.

  • We do not use Google Analytics for personalized advertising or to build remarketing lists.

  • Google Analytics may process this data on servers outside your country (for example, in the United States).

You can manage or block Google Analytics by:

  • Adjusting your browser settings or using browser extensions that block analytics scripts; and/or
  • Using opt-out tools provided by Google where available.

11.3 Google Ads conversion tracking (no remarketing)

We may use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure whether an ad for Milton Guitar Lessons leads to actions on our site (for example, completing sign-up or starting a subscription).

  • When you click one of our ads and later complete a defined action on our site, Google Ads may record that a conversion occurred.
  • We configure Google Ads so that:
  • We do not use conversion tags to build remarketing audiences.
  • We do not use these tags to track you across other sites for personalized ads.
  • We do not receive your browsing history on other sites. We receive aggregated or limited conversion statistics (such as the number of sign-ups attributed to a particular ad or campaign).

You can control how Google uses information from sites and apps (including ads and conversions) through Google’s own privacy and ad settings.

12. Children’s privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or a higher age where required by local law, such as 16 in some EU countries), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children in that age range.
